Arsenal loanee Brooke Norton-Cuffy is set to miss a couple of weeks of action with Millwall through injury, but the problem isn’t believed to be serious.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy has been a regular starter for loan club Millwall this season, but the right-wing-back missed out on his team’s big FA Cup tie against Leicester City at the weekend.
The teenager will have been disappointed not to play in the cup clash, with his manager confirming ahead of the game that he’d suffered an injury.
The Arsenal loanee, Murray Wallace, and Shaun Hutchinson were all ruled out of action by Millwall head coach Joe Edwards.
“Shaun, Murray and Brooke will all be out of the Leicester game,” Edwards confirmed. “I think they will be out for a couple of weeks.”
“Out of the three of those, Hutchy’s is likely to be a little longer than Murray and Brooke,” Edwards added. “I don’t think any of them are overly serious.
“It’s the cost of the fixture pile-up – it just caught up with us. What is quite telling is they all finished the game, none of them came off through injury.
“Although Brooke came off it was just a substitution that I thought he looked a little bit tired and Danny Mac could come on and freshen things up for us.”
Norton-Cuffy has made 23 appearances for Millwall this season, starting 21 of their 26 matches in the Championship so far.
That makes the youngster one of Arsenal’s busiest loanees in 2023/24, and he’s directly contributed to four goals from his wing-back role.
A couple more appearances will mean Norton-Cuffy has played more times for Millwall than any other team, even if you included the Arsenal u18s or Arsenal u23s.
That’s exactly what you want from a loan spell, so with any luck, Norton-Cuffy will be fit and starting again soon.
