Martin Odegaard provided two assists against Norwich City on Sunday, and he should be on course for a Premier League Player of the Month nomination.

Arsenal have had a lot of impressive performances as the team have turned things around in the last few weeks, but perhaps no one has had a better December than Martin Odegaard.

After his two assists in the 5-0 win over Norwich City, Odegaard is up to six goal contributions in six Premier League games this month, scoring against Manchester United, Everton, and Southampton, and providing another assist against Leeds United.

No Premier League player has been directly involved in more goals this month, but that’s just the headline for Odegaard’s impressive performances.

Per Squawka, Odegaard has also created more chances (20), more big chances (4), and played more through balls (8) than any other Premier League player in December.

It was inevitable that those underlying numbers would lead to some assists eventually, and now he has three in his last two league games.

In Arsenal’s new-look side, Odegaard is often the man pulling the strings. It’s no surprise he’s racking up the Arsenal Man of the Match awards lately, with one against Southampton and one against Norwich City.

The midfielder was arguably unlucky not to get one for the win over Leeds as well, in which he was excellent.

Throughout the league, it’s hard to think of a player who has had such an impressive and influential month.

At the very least, you’d expect to see Odegaard among the Premier League Player of the Month nominees when they’re announced.
