Arsenal are reportedly readying a new five-year deal for Bukayo Saka as the youngster’s star continues to rise.

There were a few reports over Christmas that Arsenal are getting ready to offer a new deal to Bukayo Saka.

The rumour seems to be stemming entirely from journalist Ekrem Konur who works for foreign outlets so it’s not yet clear how he would have access to this information, but it is certainly a rumour that is believable.

Saka signed a new four-year deal last summer, tying him to the club until 2024 but a new deal would reflect is growing stature at the club, something that would likely be reflected in a hefty payrise as Arsenal look to protect the player from the mega clubs.

Coming through the Arsenal Academy, Bukayo Saka announced himself to the world int he 19/20 season with his impressive performances, deadly delivery and ability to adapt around the pitch despite his young age.

Before he signed last summer’s new deal, the then 18-year-old Bukayo Saka earned £3kpw, a handsome salary for us mere mortals.

That new contract saw his wages increase ten-fold to £30kpw.

Saka has now made 109 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 17 and assisting 25.

“Words can’t describe how great it has been for me and for my family,” Saka said after signing his new deal last summer.

“I’m delighted to stay with the club that I love and get my first Premier League goal and for us to get the win as well, so I’m over the moon right now.

“There’s still a lot of things that I need to improve on, especially in this game. I need to learn and keep improving my game and keep developing.

“Like I always say, it’s just a dream to play for Arsenal. I’m only 18 and I came from the academy and I’m just happy that the boss is putting me out on the pitch.

“He’s shown so much faith in me so wherever he picks me, I just have to give my all.”
