The Arsenal u23s added two more players to their injury list on Friday, with Jordan McEneff and Jonathan Dinzeyi coming off early.

Within the first five minutes of Arsenal’s Premier League 2 clash with Liverpool on Friday, they already had an injury problem. Jordan McEneff had to come off early for Catalin Cirjan.

Before the end of the first half, Jonathan Dinzeyi also picked up an injury. He was forced off in the 40th minute for Alex Kirk.

Arsenal aren’t exactly stacked at centre-back right now, so Steve Bould will hope Dinzeyi’s injury is nothing serious. The only comfort for him is that he has William Saliba available for most games, much to the dismay of fans who want him in the first team.

16-year-old Brooke Norton-Cuffy was making his debut on the night, due to injuries to Daniel Oyegoke and Ryan Alebiosu ahead of him.

Arsenal didn’t name a winger in the starting eleven, with George Lewis also injured and Joel Ideho not quite fully integrated yet (he was on the bench). Even Salah-Eddine, who had filled in on the wing, is apparently injured.

Honestly, this is the only thing protecting Bould from the u23s’ terrible run of results. The long list of injuries, loans, and transfers in and out make it slightly more understandable they can’t buy a win right now.

We wish Dinzeyi and McEneff well with their injury assessments and subsequent recoveries.
