All Nigeria Soccer report that Joel Ideho has finally arrived in London. He took part in his first Arsenal training session on Monday, following his move from Ajax on the summer transfer deadline day. The teenage winger joined on a three-year deal, choosing Arsenal for their reputation with youth.

It was three weeks between the transfer on October 5th and Ideho’s first participation in training on October 26th, with no official reason given for the delay. The pandemic and quarantine restrictions almost certainly played a part.

Regardless, the youngster’s academy debut can’t come soon enough. Not just because he’s a highly-rated player the fans are looking forward to seeing in action, but also because the u23s really lack options out wide.

With Nathan Tormey leaving and Trae Coyle going on loan, and fellow summer signing George Lewis picking up an injury, Steve Bould’s winger options went from limited to almost non-existent. Ideho is likely to get plenty of games as soon as he’s ready to play.

The former Ajax and Willem II youngster is also in Arsenal’s Premier League squad, in the u21 section, just in case he really explodes this season. Unfortunately, he’s not in the Europa League squad, as you have to be with a club for two years before you can make their u21 list.
