Arsenal’s Danish left-back, Katrine Veje, has left the club and signed for Swedish side, Rosenborg.
Veje confirmed she would be leaving the club on her Instagram page before the club made their official announcement on Friday.
On Saturday, it was announced the news that she was signing for Rosenborg was followed up in a number of the Swedish papers. The UK ones, of course, didn’t care. Or even notice.
“It’s great that Katrine is back in the FCR,” said sports manager Therese Sjögran according to a press release. “She is an experienced player who spent a few years in France and England. She will bring speed and one against world-class single-player games, but also routine from big league games out in Europe.”
Arsenal issued a standard ‘see ya later’ message when they published a rather generic, “Katrine Veje is set to join Swedish top division side FC Rosengård in a permanent move.
“Kat joined us from French outfit Montpellier back in January 2019, and will depart north London having made 16 appearances for the club.
“The Denmark international played a key role in our title-winning 2018/19 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season, providing a total of four assists in her debut campaign.
“Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Kat for her contribution to the team’s success and wish her the best for the future.”
Veje’s 16 games for Arsenal came over the period of a year-and-a-half, totalling up a number of injuries that would make any of the men’s team proud.
