Barcelona are apparently ready to green-light Rafinha’s move away from the club with Arsenal said to be leading the chase for his signature.

Although a Barcelona player since he was a youngster, Rafinha has been on loan this season with Celta Vigo and has two goals and one assist in his 22 La Liga appearances before the world came to an abrupt stop.

Arsenal were linked with a move for the midfielder last summer before he headed out on loan and now Mundo Deportivo report they are ready to let him go permanently.

Valued at just under £9m, that’s quite the drop on the €35m Arsenal were said to be offering last summer for the player but a figure much more in the Gunner’s poverty-stricken wheelhouse.

Mundo Deportivo list Rafinha as one of six players who could offer the Catalans an injection of much-needed cash and mention that he has a clause in his Celta Vigo loan contract for €16m.

Arsenal, MD write, are ‘always attentive to the Brazilian’.
