Pablo Mari admits they’re waiting on how things progress with COVID-19 before making any decisions on a permanent transfer.

It’s no secret Pablo Mari wants to sign on permanently with Arsenal. He recently repeated that desire in a Reddit AMA, one of three public expressions of his hopes to stay long term.

The defender also told Sky Sports he hopes Arsenal can end the season strongly with him and complete a permanent transfer. Then he told talkSPORT he wants to stay in North London “for many more years”.

Speaking to Spanish outlet COPE, however, Mari admitted it all depends on how things go with coronavirus. They won’t make his transfer permanent without knowing the extent of the situation first.

“We are waiting on how everything evolves with the virus, if we play again and we can close the purchase agreement,” Mari explained.

“The Premier League is different. A radical change in football. But I am adjusting very well. Quick. I played two games and I felt very good.”

Mari played two games for Arsenal before the break, keeping a couple of clean sheets against West Ham United and Portsmouth in the FA Cup. They weren’t perfect performances, but in fairness, they were his first games after pre-season.

In the end, keeping two consecutive clean sheets in this 2019/20 Arsenal team is a good start.
