Serge Gnabry has completed his move to Werder Bremen.
Reports that the German winger was looking for a move away from the club really kicked off on Tuesday, despite him previously being linked with loan spells with Hertha BSC, RB Leipzig and FSV Mainz 05.
At first, it was claimed that Bayern Munich wanted to sign him before loaning him straight out to Werder but soon it became clear that this was not the case and that Werder were more likely to just sign him from Arsenal on a permanent deal.
Werder then confirmed that they were trying to sign the 21-year-old but a deal hadn’t quite been met.
On Wednesday morning, as Gnabry arrived for his medical and it became clear that the deal was most likely going ahead and the ‘over €8m’ that Bayern were reported to be paying the day before became €4-5m from Werder.

It’s a shame that Gnabry wanted to leave so badly but he only had one year left on his existing contract, what could we do? If we made him stay, we’d get nothing and although €4-6m is very low, at least it’s something.
Serge says that he’s happy to be there and Werder claim there are no other clubs involved amid reports that Bayern are able to buy the player from them.
