Incoming Arsenal signing Victor Ozhianvuna has shared a farewell with his current club Shamrock Rovers, having played his final game for the team.

Arsenal are set to bring in Victor Ozhianvuna in the January transfer window, having agreed a deal for the player back in October 2025.
Ozhianvuna was only 16 years old at the time, and ineligible to formally link up with his new teammates. But he’ll turn 18 in January, which is why the transfer will finally be concluded in the upcoming winter window.
In the meantime, Ozhianvuna has continued playing for Shamrock Rovers, but with their season coming to an end, he’s now wished a fond farewell to the club that brought him through the academy ranks and into first-team football.

“After 11 amazing years, I’m saying goodbye to the club where I’ve made memories that I’ll never forget,” Ozhianvuna wrote on Instagram.
“I’ve met a lot of amazing people at the club and I’ve learned so much over the years as a footballer, but more importantly as a person and for that I’m forever grateful.
“I’d like to thank my coaches, my teammates and my friends and family for all the help over the years. I’d also like to thank the supporters for the constant love and support they’ve shown to me and to the club.
“The last few months have been difficult with an injury and I’m gutted to have not been able to play, but I couldn’t have asked for a better way to sign off than winning the league and lifting the trophy in front of the fans.
“As I move on to the next stage in my career, I’ll never forget the club that gave me a chance and I’m proud to say I’ve played for The Hoops. Forever grateful, Forever a Hoop.”

As he mentions in his post, Ozhianvuna recently won the Irish league title for the second time, having made 13 league appearances for Rovers in their 2025 win and another 18 for the team this time around.
The teenager was having a particularly positive impact in early May, providing assists in consecutive games against Drogheda United and Galway United. He was even being tipped by his manager for a senior international call-up.
But his run of good form was put to an end by a back injury, and he’s been out of action for the last five months. He’ll hopefully be fit to return to action by the time he officially joins Arsenal.
Ozhianvuna will reportedly sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with Arsenal in January, which would take him to 2031. Rovers are guaranteed around €2m (£1.68m) as a transfer fee, plus potentially more in sell-on money.
