Jack Grealish was reportedly out drinking during the week before Everton’s game against Arsenal, ultimately missing the match through illness.

Jack Grealish was absent for last month’s match against Arsenal with a reported illness, but the Everton loanee then missed their next game against Newcastle United due to an unspecified disciplinary issue.
With that in mind, it’s notable that The S*n report that Grealish was out drinking in London and Wilmslow during the week prior to the Arsenal game.
The 31-year-old reportedly went out on Monday and Tuesday nights, though he did attend Everton training during the day on Tuesday. Yet by the weekend, he was too ill to face the Gunners.

Grealish hasn’t played a match since, with Everton reporting that he missed last Thursday’s League Cup game against Newcastle due to a “breach of club discipline”. But the player then also missed the Premier League fixture against the same opposition on Monday.
The second time around, Grealish reportedly missed the match due to concerns over his fitness, rather than as a club sanction.
But there’s certainly a suggestion by The Athletic that Grealish’s initial absences against Arsenal and for the League Cup match were related to the player reporting in sick after his nights out. As well as missing those two games, he also reportedly missed training sessions in between them.

It’s obviously not hard to imagine a scenario where all of these elements are connected.
Grealish could hypothetically have gone out for a big night on the Tuesday, become too sick to face Arsenal or attend training, been punished by the club for being irresponsible, and missed too many training sessions in the meantime to be fit for their subsequent fixtures.
But with Everton only confirming the basics of the story, that’s all simply conjecture at this stage.
