Arsenal target to arrive in London tomorrow after fee agreement

Christos Tzolis is set to travel to London on Tuesday to complete his transfer to Arsenal, with an official announcement expected this week.

It’s no secret that Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis is on the way to Arsenal this summer.

Widespread media reports have confirmed that the two clubs have a £34m agreement for the transfer, and that the player’s medical has been authorised. But more than that, the player’s manager recently publicly confirmed that the player would be joining the Gunners.

“I’m very happy for him,” Ivan Leko said. “I’m convinced that he will have his minutes, that he will show also on highest level in Premier League and Champions League in Arsenal that he is a top player, that he absolutely deserves to go to be there.”

As for when the deal will be made official, Dimitris Manakos now reports that the Greek international will travel to London on Tuesday, and if everything goes to plan, he’ll become an Arsenal player on Wednesday.

That would be good news for the Gunners, who officially kicked off pre-season training on Monday morning.

Arsenal have their first behind-closed-doors friendly of 2026 this weekend, and their first public pre-season friendly next week. Having Tzolis available from the start would really help to get him settled.

Illan Meslier’s arrival on a free transfer from Leeds United is Arsenal’s only other addition so far, and Meslier should also be available from the start of pre-season.

Tzolis admitted earlier this year that he’d like to join Arsenal, telling the media: “My future club? Haha, I don’t know! I hope that they (Arsenal) come for me. But honestly, I don’t know. If Arsenal come, it would be a privilege for every player to play for [them].”

The 24-year-old had an excellent season in Belgium in 2025/26, scoring 17 goals and assisting 23 in league football alone.

In all competitions, he racked up 51 goal contributions in 52 games, including five goal contributions in Champions League qualifiers and a further three in the competition proper.
