AC Milan are considering a move for Aaron Ramsdale this summer, depending on a number of other potential transfers.
Alan Nixon reports that AC Milan could be one of the clubs in the race for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale this summer, though it would depend on a couple of other deals going through.
Manchester City’s Ederson is being linked with a potential exit from the Premier League champions, and City are considering a move for Milan’s Mike Maignan as a result.
Should Ederson leave and Maignan go to City, Milan would then need a replacement goalkeeper, and Ramsdale is on their shortlist in that scenario.
In the meantime, Ramsdale is also being considered by Premier League clubs, and Arsenal won’t let him go cheaply.
Newcastle United have already shown a hesitance to reach Arsenal’s asking price, with the Daily Mail recently reporting that Ramsdale is on their shortlist but they’re unwilling to pay the £30m+ the Gunners want.
Newcastle’s Ramsdale alternative was previously reported to be Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, but Valencia are also asking for £30m or more.
As a result, Newcastle are considering a £20m move for James Trafford of relegated Burnley instead.
Charles Watts recently wrote that Ramsdale is expected to be on the move in the next couple of months, regardless of the destination. It’s a matter of when he leaves, not if.
The 26-year-old made 11 appearances this season, losing his starting spot to on-loan David Raya. Raya is set to join permanently from Brentford in the summer.
For the time being, Ramsdale has linked up with England for their pre-Euro 2024 friendlies.
