Bologna’s rising star Joshua Zirkzee is turning heads and sparking a potential bidding war. Arsenal and Aston Villa are reportedly in pole position to sign the Dutch forward, while Serie A giants like AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus face financial barriers.

The situation is further complicated by Bayern Munich’s buy-back clause, adding another layer of intrigue to the transfer saga.

Bologna’s star striker Joshua Zirkzee is attracting significant attention from the Premier League, with Arsenal and Aston Villa emerging as the frontrunners in the transfer race. The 22-year-old Dutch forward is reportedly valued at €60m by his Serie A club.

Italian giants AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus are interested in signing Zirkzee but may struggle to meet Bologna’s valuation. Interlive reports Inter Milan’s frustration with the high asking price, a sentiment likely shared by other Serie A suitors.

The financial strength of the Premier League puts Arsenal and Aston Villa in an advantageous position. Both clubs are reportedly prepared to meet Bologna’s demands, making a move to England increasingly likely for Zirkzee. It’s noted that while Zirkzee might prefer to stay in Italy, the financial offers from England could be difficult to refuse.

Bayern Munich, Zirkzee’s former club, could also factor into the transfer saga. They hold a €40m buy-back option. However, reports suggest neither the club nor the player is keen on a reunion at this point.

Calcio Mercato reports Arsenal is particularly aggressive in their pursuit, offering Zirkzee a ‘staggering’ €6m net annual salary – a significant increase from his current wage of €1m. The potential for a starting role in Mikel Arteta’s squad, following the possible sale of Gabriel Jesus, could further entice the player.
