Arsenal have scouted Viktor Gyokeres multiple times this season, with the Gunners set to hold talks to decide on their summer transfer target.
Fabrizio Romano reports in his Daily Briefing that Arsenal are monitoring Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, and the player is on their shortlist ahead of the summer.
Arsenal scouts have watched Gyokeres in action multiple times, and the Gunners certainly have an interest in the player, according to Romano.
The journalist adds that Arsenal haven’t yet decided on their primary target for the summer transfer window, and they’ll hold internal talks to make that decision before any move for Gyokeres.
Gyokeres has a release clause set at €100m (£85.8m), though Sporting are currently looking to hand the player a new contract and to increase that figure.
Charles Watts previously reported that Gyokeres would be on Arsenal’s radar this summer. But with his relative top-level inexperience and his hefty release clause, Watts added that he would be a gamble.
“I don’t think much about the future,” Gyokeres said last week. “I want to win the league and the cup with Sporting. That’s what I put all my energy into in the club team.
“We’ll see this summer. It’s not something I know about myself, what will happen.”
Gyokeres has 36 goals and 14 assists in 39 games for Sporting this season, and he scored for Sweden against Portugal in his only game of the ongoing international break.
