Gabriel Magalhaes has won Arsenal’s Player of the Month award, as well as receiving a nomination for the PFA award for January.
Earlier this week, we covered the news that Gabriel Magalhaes had been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award, but that isn’t the only recognition the Arsenal centre-back has received for a strong January.
Gabriel was also nominated for Arsenal’s Player of the Month award for January, and the club have now announced that he’s won the fan vote.
On top of that, the Arsenal defender has also been nominated for January’s PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month, a separate prize to the Premier League’s monthly award. You can vote on that one here.
Gabriel has been nominated by the PFA alongside Conor Bradley and Diogo Jota of Liverpool, Elijah Adebayo of Luton Town, and Julian Alvarez and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City.
As a reminder, Gabriel helped Arsenal to two wins from two Premier League games in January, scoring twice as the Gunners kept a clean sheet against Crystal Palace before beating Nottingham Forest 2-1 away from home.
For Arsenal’s award, the Brazilian received 68% of the fan votes ahead of William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, and Bukayo Saka.
The award makes him the sixth unique Arsenal winner this season:
- August 2023 – Declan Rice
- September 2023 – Bukayo Saka
- October 2023 – Takehiro Tomiyasu
- November 2023 – Kai Havertz
- December 2023 – Martin Odegaard
- January 2024 – Gabriel Magalhaes
