Arsenal are back in for Pedro Neto, and Wolves’ Financial Fair Play issues might make a transfer a possibility next year.
Alex Crook reports for talkSPORT that Arsenal are back on the trail of Pedro Neto of Wolverhampton Wanderers, having made several previous attempts to sign the player.
The winger’s strong start to the season has caught Mikel Arteta’s attention, and the manager is keen to add to his forward line in the coming transfer windows.
Wolves aren’t keen to sell, but their ongoing FFP issues might make them consider a significant transfer offer.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that there is a feeling that in 2024 we will see important clubs coming in for Neto, and he confirms that Arsenal have been tracking the player.
The Gunners know Neto very well and wanted him last year, but they aren’t the only ones, with a number of clubs considering a move.
Romano suggests there’s no clarity on a potential price, partly because Wolves wouldn’t even entertain negotiations over the summer. Neto was considered untouchable in the most recent window.
Ryan Taylor reported for the Mirror that Arsenal might have to pay up to £60m for Neto, but that figure hasn’t been confirmed elsewhere.
Neto was linked with Arsenal throughout the summer of 2022, but the Gunners were ultimately priced out of a move.
The 23-year-old was tempted by the transfer, as a self-proclaimed boyhood fan of the club, but it never came to be.
An international with Portugal, Neto has made a strong start to the season, providing four assists and scoring once in his opening seven games.
