After links to plenty of clubs, including Arsenal, Wilfried Zaha is set to join Galatasaray on a free transfer this summer.

Galatasaray have officially confirmed that they’re now in official negotiations with Wilfried Zaha over a transfer as a free agent.

The Super Lig club then posted a video on social media of Zaha, who said: “Hello, Gala fans! Just want to say I’m on my way, can’t wait to see you soon.”

Though not a done deal just yet, Zaha is evidently close to confirming his move to the club. The winger’s contract with Crystal Palace expired this summer, so he’s free to move without a transfer fee.

Zaha was linked with plenty of other clubs in recent months. PSG were reportedly considering a move, he had offers from Saudi Arabia, and reports in the English media had also linked him with an enquiry from Atletico Madrid.

Crystal Palace made an attempt to keep the winger, offering a new long-term contract worth around £200,000 per week.

But the 30-year-old took his time over a decision, and the chance to play in the Champions League is said to appeal to him. Galatasaray are in the second round of qualifiers for the competition.

Back in April, Arsenal were also linked with a move to sign Zaha on the expiry of his Palace contract.

RMC Sport reported that Arsenal, Chelsea, and Marseille were on the shortlist of interested clubs, with the Premier League clubs viewed as favourites due to Marseille’s financial difficulties.

The Daily Mail claimed Arsenal were a potential suitor if Zaha’s contract extension talks didn’t pan out, particularly with the player so keen on European football.

But Arsenal links faded in the wake of the news of Reiss Nelson’s new contract, and interest in Mohammed Kudus. Zaha instead looks set to play in Turkey in 2023/24.
