Fabrizio Romano reports for CaughtOffside that Arsenal and Chelsea have both been following Yunus Musah since January, with Inter Milan also in the mix.

As it stands, the three clubs are simply scouting the player, without making any formal moves to advance a potential transfer. But there are reportedly good chances for a move for Musah this summer.

Back in December, following Musah’s performances at the World Cup, David Ornstein reported for The Athletic that a number of Premier League clubs were exploring the signing.

At the time, Valencia’s financial position meant he would have been available for north of €20m (£17.2m).

Ornstein added that the player was believed to be keen on a new challenge after spending a few years in Spain, and Valencia were willing to listen to bids.

James Benge wrote that a string of Europe’s top clubs were tracking Musah, and the group was believed to include Liverpool and Arsenal.

It’s unclear how Valencia’s position might have changed between January and the summer. Musah’s contract will have three years left on it in June, running until 2026.

Speaking about a possible return to north London, where he played as an academy youngster until 2019, 20-year-old Musah didn’t rule anything out.

“You never know,” Musah said in November. “I had a great time at Arsenal developing there, I still have friends there, the coaches were great, being an Arsenal player in general is great.

“I loved playing for Arsenal. I’ve nothing against the club and if one day it turns out to be that it’s time to go back then it’s possible.

“For now, I’m really happy at Valencia and I’m looking forward to carrying this season on in the same way we’re doing now.”
