Arsenal-linked Yunus Musah may be available for a reasonable price in the January transfer window, given Valencia’s financial position.

David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that a number of Premier League clubs are exploring the possibility of signing Yunus Musah, and Valencia’s financial position means he would be available for north of €20m (£17.2m).

Ornstein writes that the player is believed to be keen on a new challenge after spending a few years in Spain, and Valencia are willing to listen to bids.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Arsenal were one of the clubs with Musah on their shortlist, and the Gunners have sent their scouts to monitor him.

James Benge had written that a string of Europe’s top clubs are tracking Musah already, adding that the group is believed to include Liverpool and Arsenal.

Part of the reason for the interest around him is that Musah put in a few impressive performances for the United States at the World Cup.

Though the national side crashed out in their first knockout game, they had a strong group stage, and Musah notably performed well against England.

Speaking about a possible return to north London, where he played as an academy youngster until 2019, 20-year-old Musah didn’t rule anything out.

“You never know,” Musah said in November. “I had a great time at Arsenal developing there, I still have friends there, the coaches were great, being an Arsenal player in general is great.

“I loved playing for Arsenal. I’ve nothing against the club and if one day it turns out to be that it’s time to go back then it’s possible.

“For now, I’m really happy at Valencia and I’m looking forward to carrying this season on in the same way we’re doing now.”
