Nottingham Forest are closing in on a deal for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo, with only details remaining before a full agreement.

Brazilian outlet UOL report that Nottingham Forest are close to the signing of Danilo from Palmeiras, with the player even reportedly telling those close to him that he’s set for the move.
The two clubs still need to sort out some details, including over the structure of the deal, but Forest appear to be the clear favourites now.
The Telegraph reported earlier this week that Forest were in talks with Palmeiras over a move for Danilo, and they’d launched an £18m move to sign the Brazilian.
Steve Cooper is keen to add a defensive midfielder to his squad and they’re making a serious move to do a deal.
The Telegraph add that Arsenal are among the teams who have investigated Danilo’s signing, but their interest has cooled since the summer.

Goal Brasil had recently claimed that Palmeiras had received their first offer to sell Danilo, with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, and AS Monaco also willing to sign the midfielder. But that Arsenal interest looks to have faded.
Arsenal’s focus is currently on signing Mykhaylo Mudryk, but they could reportedly discuss a move for a midfielder later in January.
