Arsenal are one of three clubs interested in Danilo this month, with Palmeiras preparing to sell the midfielder, according to a report.

Goal Brasil report that Palmeiras have received their first offer to sell Danilo this month, with three clubs interested in the midfielder.

According to the claims, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, and AS Monaco are all willing to sign Danilo, and one of the three has made an offer – but it’s not clear which one.

Goal also claim Arsenal made a £20m offer in the summer window. Palmeiras weren’t willing to sell at the time, but they’re open to reasonable offers now.

At this stage, there’s no word on exactly how much Palmeiras would want. Certainly a lot less than his €100m (£88m) release clause, at least.

Arsenal’s focus is currently on signing Mykhaylo Mudryk, but they could reportedly discuss a move for a midfielder later in January.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that the Gunners hadn’t made an official bid for Danilo, but he added that Mikel Arteta’s side were following the Brazilian midfielder.

Palmeiras don’t desperately need the money, after selling Endrick, and if there really are three clubs after Danilo then you can expect the Brazilian side to play them off each other.

By that token, perhaps it’s worth waiting until the latter stages of the window to make a move, to restrict the opportunity for a bidding war.
