Lorenzo Lepore reports that Arsenal and Facundo Torres’ camp will talk again after the World Cup, with the player’s representatives hoping to be able to make a formal move when negotiations resume.

This echoes an update from Uruguayan journalist Edgardo Buggiano last month.

Buggiano had initially broken the story that Arsenal were set to hold talks with Torres’ representatives over a potential transfer, later adding that negotiations had advanced.

But he added in November that the two parties had agreed to move forward with fees and formalities after the World Cup.

Torres was included in Uruguay’s 26-man squad for the tournament, so his full focus will be on that for the time being. Whether or not Uruguay remain in the competition will depend on the results later on Friday.

On a possibly related note, Mikel Arteta reportedly visited Florida recently, the home of Orlando City. It’s not known why he was there.

Goal’s Charles Watts previously wrote that Arsenal scout Toni Lima had set up a meeting between Edu Gaspar and Torres’ representatives over a potential move to provide cover for Bukayo Saka on the right wing.

Torres’ agent, Edgardo Lasalvia, confirmed to ESPN that a meeting was planned to discuss a potential Premier League move.

Torres is reportedly very keen on the move, but negotiations are still at an early stage, with no deal imminent.

The winger caught the eye when he scored for Orlando City against Arsenal in pre-season, cutting inside to finish from outside the box.

Since then, Torres has played 16 matches for his club, scoring eight goals and assisting six, including three goals and two assists in the US Open Cup semi-final and final to win Orlando the trophy.
