Wolves are looking for £50m to sell Arsenal-linked winger Pedro Neto this summer, with the Gunners hoping to pay less than that.

TalkSPORT and Daniel Cutts report that Wolves are demanding a fee of £50m to sell Pedro Neto this summer, with Arsenal hoping to sign the winger.

Arsenal reportedly want to pay closer to £35m, with no official bid placed yet, but initial talks held.

Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of the winger, suggesting the Gunners could look to reach a compromise with their Premier League counterparts.

On Monday morning, David Ornstein broke the news that Pedro Neto is Arsenal’s transfer priority for the remainder of the summer window, with the Gunners’ interest concrete and unanimous.

A deal reportedly won’t be easy, but perhaps it will be helped by the fact Neto himself used to support Arsenal as his boyhood team in England.

The other side of a potential move is that Arsenal need to move on Nicolas Pepe first.

Talks are reportedly ongoing between Arsenal and OGC Nice over a loan deal, but nothing is done yet.

Even though it’s only a loan, Pepe’s departure would have multiple benefits for the Gunners.

Firstly, it would free up squad space. Secondly, it would shift at least some of his wages. Thirdly, Arsenal will hope a year of regular games will boost Pepe’s transfer value back to a reasonable level ahead of a likely permanent departure next summer.

For now, Pepe remains at Arsenal, which is yet another obstacle for the Gunners’ move for Neto.
