Arsenal have been speaking with Pedro Neto’s agent for more than a month according to David Ornstein, writing for The Athletic.
Arsenal are keen to bring a winger before the window closes on 1 September and have been linked with a number of different players.
At the start of August, Arsenal’s interest in Neto was shot down by Mirror Deputy Sport Editor Alex Richards who said the move was ‘not happening’. As it turns out, Arsenal were already speaking with Neto’s agent – Jorges Mendes.
Ornstein reports that while Arsenal are very keen to bring the 22-year-old to the Emirates, Wolves have no intention of selling a player who only signed a new contract in March.
That ties Neto to Wolves until 2027.

Currently valued at just under £30m, it would seem Arsenal would need to make a much larger offer to get Wolves to consider selling.
Ornstein adds that Arsenal have been speaking with Mendes, while Mendes speaks with Wolves. The two sides have not yet begun speaking directly, but there is no doubt about Arsenal’s interest.
Neto has yet to register a goal or assist in his three appearances so far this season.
