Lucas Paqueta’s camp are currently denying negotiations with Arsenal, but they aren’t denying the interest and he wants a Premier League move.

In the last few days, Media Foot reported that Arsenal were interested in Lucas Paqueta, creating a buzz on social media.

Paqueta is an attacking midfielder with plenty of goals and assists to his game, something that always excites Arsenal fans.

Fabrizio Romano reports for Caught Offside that Paqueta’s camp have so far denied any negotiations, as Arsenal haven’t submitted a bid for the player.

But Romano suggests the situation is one to watch, as Paqueta would love to play in the Premier League, and Lyon could sell. The catch is that they’d want at least €60-65m (~£50-55m) to let the Brazilian go.

AS claim Paqueta’s camp aren’t denying the interest from Arsenal and Newcastle United. That interest just evidently hasn’t progressed to formal negotiations.

Earlier this year, Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola reported that Arsenal are one of the clubs after Lucas Paqueta this summer, with the interest primarily driven through Edu Gaspar.

Mostly playing in midfield for Lyon, Paqueta scored 11 goals and provided seven assists last campaign. Arsenal are obviously in need of some goals from midfield, though they did make to address that issue with the signing of Fabio Vieira.

24-year-old Paqueta still has a contract until 2025, having only joined Lyon in 2020.
