Arsenal have agreed a deal to bring 22-year-old Fabio Vieira from Porto on a five year deal, so what shirt numbers are available for the attacking midfielder?
When the news that Arsenal had agreed a five-year deal to sign Fabio Vieira landed, it caught everybody by surprise as he is a player who has not been linked with the club this summer.
There are few shirt numbers available in the Arsenal first 11, but that might not be an issue for Vieira who has worn the number 50 since the 19/20 season.
The 50 is available at Arsenal, having last been on the back of goalkeeper, Dejan Iliev.
Hector Bellerin’s 2 is likely to become available but I would imagine, in that case, Takehiro Tomiyasu will move his, which would free up the 18.
Alexandre Lacazette’s recently vacated number 9 shirt is also available, but that should hopefully be going to Gabriel Jesus.
Then, the next number available is the 12, while the legendary 14 shirt is now free after we gave Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona.
15 is also available with Ainsley Maitland-Niles clearly not wanted at the club.
17 could become available if the club can get rid of Cedric.
19 is likely to become free when Nicolas Pepe leaves.
Calum Chamber’s 21 is also available as is Pablo Mari’s 22 and Reiss Nelson’s 24.
Beyond that, it’s all numbers from 27 up that are left.
