With Arsenal in the market for a midfielder, we are now starting to see a number of different players being linked.

Despite his comments that he wants to stay at Arsenal until he wins ‘something special’, many expect Granit Xhaka to be shipped out with Roma still keen on signing the player who agreed a long-term deal with them last summer.

This is not the first time Arsenal have been linked with a move for Leandro Paredes.

Back in 2016, The S*n claimed Arsenal were thinking of making a move for the Argentine when he was still at Roma.

The following year, Paredes moved to Zenit St. Petersburg for £20.7m before a £36m move to PSG two seasons later.

Now 27, he is valued at around £18m.

Currently out for the rest of the season with a torn abductor, Paredes is out of contract next summer.

He has played just 1,244 minutes this season across 22 appearances, scoring one and assisting two in his role as a defensive midfielder.
