Aston Villa have two players returning to fitness in time for their clash with Arsenal on Friday, including summer signing Leon Bailey.
Gregg Evans of The Athletic has provided an update on Aston Villa’s team news for their trip to Arsenal, as Villa kick off the next round of Premier League fixtures at the Emirates. Ahead of that weekend of sports action, check out New Jersey Safe Betting.
The big news is that Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore are back available. Bailey has been out since his goal against Everton on September 18th, whilst Traore just missed their last match against Wolves.
It’s worth mentioning that Villa boss Dean Smith was tentative on Bailey’s ability to play a role, saying: “We have to be aware that he’s had a thigh injury for four weeks so we have to assess how much of a risk we take with him.”
But if the winger is available, even as a substitute, that’s going to be a boost for his side. Bailey has a goal and an assist in just 85 minutes on the pitch for Villa since signing.
In other team news, Matty Cash is fit after concerns over a possible setback. Keinan Davis and Trezeguet remain absent, having played no part for Villa so far this season.
I think it’s fair to say that Villa will essentially have their best team available, with Bailey the only doubt on that front.
Arsenal could be missing a few players for the clash, with Granit Xhaka out, Bukayo Saka a doubt, and Mikel Arteta hinting that one or two others needed assessing after Monday’s game against Crystal Palace.
