The Arsenal defender, who has been at the club since he signed from Barcelona in 2011, will reportedly fly to Spain today to complete the move.

Bellerin wanted to leave Arsenal last summer but came to an agreement with Mikel Arteta to stay for another season so it was always expected that he would be on his way this year.

Bellerin did find an agreement with Inter Milan but Arsenal could not do the same. Like Roma with Granit Xhaka, the Italians would not up their offer and Arsenal would not lower their demands.

That Bellerin is leaving to join a club like Real Betis (no offence) really is a sad statement on where Arsenal find themselves currently.

Bellerin has two years left on his current Arsenal contract and Arsenal’s inability to replace him could explain their apparent Ainsley Maitland-Niles U-turn.
