Arsenal have reportedly had a change of heart over Ainsley Maitland-Niles and turned down a bid from Everton to sign the Hale End graduate and the 24yo has taken to Instagram to plead his case.
Everton were hoping they could strike a deal to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan with an option to buy. With Mikel Arteta not seeming best fussed about the player, most expected him to leave. Maitland-Nile’s insistence on being a midfielder, when there is a massive right-back shaped hole with his name on it, was also a problem.
Perhaps Cedric’s performance against Manchester City was so awful Arteta has had a rethink and somebody has managed to get through to AMN. The club have wanted to sign a right-back to replace Hector Bellerin, should he go, but they’ve been neither able to find a new one nor sell their old one.

According to the report linked in the tweet, which hasn’t been updated to reflect anything that’s now being claimed and still says Arsenal will let Maitland-Niles go, Everton also want Maitland-Niles as a right-back.
Maitland-Niles, meanwhile, has posted on Instagram, “All I wanna do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gonna play”
