Arsenal and Crystal Palace had found an agreement for the transfer of Eddie Nketiah but the Eagles were unable to find one with the player so, as things stand, Nketiah will be at Arsenal as he heads into the final year of his contract.

Crystal Palace have been consistently linked with a move for the England u21 forward who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Arsenal.

The Guardian reported that Patrick Vieira is keen to add another forward to his Palace squad and believed that Arsenal would lower their original £20m asking price to facilitate Nketiah’s exit, something they seemed to have done to no avail.

Palace have now turned to Odsonne Edouard, who was linked with both Arsenal and Leicester this summer, although he was always more likely to end up with the Foxes. They then got fed up waiting for him to make a decision and signed Patson Daka instead.

Edouard is believed to be having a Palace medical at the time of writing.
