Arsenal are expected to submit another bid for Aaron Ramsdale but it will still not meet Sheffield United’s demands.

Arsenal have their heart set on Aaron Ramsdale, whose name is impossible to type without first writing Aaron Ramsey and then having to delete.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a mixed season with the Blades last campaign but Arsenal have clearly identified him as a player they can get more from. Plus, he comes with homegrown status.

Arsenal have already submitted three bids for the goalkeeper, all of which have been rebuffed. The last one, however, was meant to be their ‘final’ bid, but Football.London seem to think Edu will be going back with a fourth.

Sheffield United want £30m for Ramsdale, who has another three years left on his £43kpw contract. Arsenal, so far, have offered up to £18m with £7m in add-ons.

It’s interesting to note that when Arsenal first started being linked with Ramsdale, Sheffield United wanted ‘£20m+’ and I guess £30m is that, but as with all these things, until it’s done, we never really know for sure. And that’s only if it actually gets done.

That first report broke around 17 June and by 22 July his price had gone up to £32m. Now it’s back down to £30m, but Arsenal don’t seem to have any intention of paying that, not even with their fourth bid.
