According to a report in Spain, Eduardo Camavinga has turned down the chance to join Arsenal this summer even though no offer has been forthcoming. In fact, even the report saying that Camavinga won’t go to Arsenal says at one point that he ‘would’ have turned down a moved ‘if’ Arsenal had made an offer.

The Rennes midfielder apparently has his eyes on a move to PSG, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid but few people every thought Arsenal were seriously in for the 18-year-old who is already valued at £54m.

Writing just a few days ago, David Ornstein even said, “As far as I know there’s no chance,” of Camavinga rocking up at Arsenal.

Leaving aside the financial implications of a move for the teenager, it has always been stated that any Arsenal move would be dependent on having European football as that’s what Camavinga, despite his tender age, feels he needs in his life at a new club.

It is doubtful the European Conference League, which Arsenal might not even qualify for anyway, would impress him.
