After a poor October, the Arsenal u23s came into their own in November, with Nikolaj Möller playing a key role.

In the three Premier League 2 matches, Möller scored two and assisted one as the u23s recorded three straight wins. In the EFL Trophy, he played the full 90 minutes and scored a penalty in the shootout against Gillingham.

But it’s not just about his goal contributions or penalty shootout goals. The striker has been very effective in bringing other players into play, holding the ball up for the likes of Folarin Balogun, Catalin Cirjan, and the rest.

The result is that Möller earned a nomination for Premier League 2 Player of the Month for November.

The nominees are selected by a panel after PL2 coaches pick out the best performances by opposing players in each of their matches, so Möller is making an impression. It’s one thing to have the backing of your own fans and club, but another to earn the respect of the opposition.

Möller is one of eight nominees, including former Gunner Alfie Matthews, now with Crystal Palace. The Arsenal man has strong competition, but even if he doesn’t win the actual award, the nomination is good recognition of his start all the same.
