Arsenal are reportedly still interested in ‘Brazilian wonderkid’, Gabriel Veron, a player they have been tracking for some time.

Arsenal, along with Manchester United, are reportedly interested in Gabriel Veron, an 18-year-old winger who currently plays for Palmerias.

He is expected to be the next Brazilian to seal a big-money move to Europe and Arsenal, who only seem to buy Brazilians called Gabriel, are being heavily linked.

Arsenal were linked with Veron when he was 17 and not long after that his manager admitted they would probably have to sell him.

Given Arsenal’s growing Brazilian contingent at the club, thanks to Edu, you’d have to think Arsenal are favourites ahead of United should both clubs move for the player.

Their ability to point to Gabriel Martinelli’s integration into the first side, despite only being a teenager himself, will also do their cause no harm, although it’s not like United are shy of using youngsters themselves, especially now Jose Mourinho has gone.

Gabriel Veron could cost around €25m, which is a lot more than Arsenal paid for Martinelli.

Martinelli, if you don’t know, had a trial with Manchester United.

Arsenal’s other Brazilian Gabriel also turned down Manchester United.

Arsenal, of course, have not only signed Brazilians called Gabriel, although they have accounted for three of their last four signings.
