Jorge Nicolas (via ESPN) reports that Arsenal and Barcelona are showing an interest in 17-year-old Veron. Fellow Premier League club Everton placed a €15m bid, but the Palmeiras president wouldn’t even open negotiations at that rate.

Veron’s agent, Lupercio Segundo, admits there were some conversations with clubs at the beginning of the year. However, the coronavirus pandemic brought progress to a halt.

The football shutdown didn’t come at a great time for Veron. The Copa Libertadores was getting underway, and he’d just made his debut in the competition. Check out these Sign up Bonuses while you wait for football to return.

Veron has two goals and an assist in his four senior appearances for Palmeiras so far, despite not making a start for the club yet.

The teenager also shone at the u17 World Cup 2019, scoring three goals and assisting two. He also earned a penalty for an equaliser in the final, which Brazil went on to win.

The youngster looks like a top talent, which is why Palmeiras want €30m for him. They only own 60% of his economic rights, so they want to push his fee up as much as possible.
