John-Jules recently returned to the Doncaster Rovers team after injury, scoring in both of his first couple of games back. He was involved in plenty of chances to add to his goal contributions on Saturday, as Rovers took on Gillingham.

The Arsenal loanee provided an assist for the opening goal in the 29th minute, latching onto a loose ball before laying it off to Reece James (not that one) to finish.

After Gillingham equalised, John-Jules was then involved in Rovers taking the lead again.

Picking the ball up on the left, he squared it infield for Benjamin Whiteman to shoot on goal. The goalkeeper managed to get a hand to it, but Brad Halliday turned in the rebound. The initial chance was one of four John-Jules created on the day.

The striker also had seven shots, so he’ll be disappointed he didn’t manage to convert any of them. He joked on Twitter: “Forgot my shooting boots at home today…but most important is the three points.”

As long as the 19-year-old keeps getting in the right positions, he’ll surely add to his goal tally. He has three goals and two assists in seven League One appearances so far, which is an encouraging start. You can watch his assist here.
