Tyreece John-Jules scored less than 20 minutes into his first league appearance after injury, but he couldn’t rescue a point for Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday.

Tyreece John-Jules, on loan with Doncaster Rovers from Arsenal this season, made his first League One appearance in two months on Wednesday. The striker recently recovered from an injury, and came off the bench for the final half-hour against Hull City.

His side were 1-0 down when he came on, but he brought them level with the first goal of his return. With less than 10 minutes of the game left to play, the 19-year-old found space in the box and swept a cross home. You can watch the goal here.

John-Jules raced back to the halfway line to try and inspire his team to score another, but they ended up conceding after their goalkeeper spilled the ball to Tom Eaves in the 87th minute.

A frustrating result in the circumstances, even if Hull are the runaway league leaders at the moment. From an individual perspective, it’s obviously great to see John-Jules playing again and even better that he’s scoring goals so soon.

Doncaster Rovers next play Northampton Town on Saturday at 15:00 GMT. John-Jules could be in line for his first start since his return, but we’ll see.
