AS Roma are looking at Sead Kolasinac for a January transfer as they aim to sign an experienced left-back, according to reports in Italy.
Corriere dello Sport report that AS Roma need full-backs on both sides in January, and Sead Kolasinac is among their options. In recent days, an intermediary reportedly offered Kolasinac to Roma.
Roma were one of the sides seemingly in the race for the defender over the summer. Bayer Leverkusen ended up taking the lead, before they pulled out late on over their failure to raise the funds through the sale of Wendell to Hertha BSC.
CdS claim the operation could be more reasonable this time around because head coach Paulo Fonseca is looking for a more experienced alternative to Leonardo Spinazzola. Right now, he only has 18-year-old Riccardo Calafiori as an option.
Fonseca wants to loan out Calafiori and bring in Kolasinac, particularly as Spinazzola has such a shaky injury history. It’s almost inevitable he’ll have problems this season playing as regularly as he currently has to.
We know Arsenal are willing to sell, so it’s just a case of finding an agreement now. The two clubs have plenty of time between now and January to get talking.
