Bayer Leverkusen will not be signing Sead Kolasinac in this window according to Kicker in Germany.

The German publication reports that, as Bayer Leverkusen’s left-back, Wendell, is not leaving, there will be no move for Kolasinac now despite the deal apparently being very close.

Wendell was expected to go to Hertha Berlin but Kicker have been informed he will be staying with Bayer Leverkusen.

It had been claimed that Kolasinac was close to an €11m permanent move to Germany. His impending move was even given as the reason he was not in the squad for Arsenal’s game at the weekend against Sheffield United.

What happens in the next few hours remains to be seen but it would seem unlikely that a new club can be found and details sorted before the window closes at 11pm on Monday night.

As a result, Arsenal will not be able to shift Kolasinac’s wages off the books as they had hoped.
