Before Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Fulham, the TV cameras picked up a bit of a scrap between Eddie Nketiah and Dani Ceballos.

The midfielder seemed to go in a bit heavily on Nketiah in the warm-up, with the two players then squaring up to each other. Teammates had to step in to split the two up and end the session.

But as Rio Ferdinand said in commentary at the time, it’s the kind of thing you get on a weekly basis in training. Players are always trying to prove themselves in every session, and sometimes that will lead to clashes.

With the adrenaline pumping ahead of the first game of the season, even more so.

The good news is that there are no hard feelings between the two. Ceballos posted the above picture on Instagram after the game, writing “no problems here, my brother”. The two both came on during the game and did well too.

A squad full of competitors pushing each other is exactly what Arsenal fans asked for. I don’t think we can complain now we’re starting to get it.

Mikel Arteta, meanwhile, said he didn’t see it when asked about the ‘incident’ after the game.
