Thomas Partey, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, is reportedly paying all the wages of the players and staff at fourth division Alcobebdas Sport, a club he part owns.

It was recently revealed that Arsenal made €50m bid for the 26-year-old, a fee that would trigger his release clause.

Don’t let that get you too excited just yet, however.

Jose Daniel Jimenez, Thomas Partey’s agent, says his client is under a contract that will link him to Atletico Madrid for years to come.

As things stand, Partey still has a contract with Atletico until 2023. Some rumours suggest he’s even close to extending that further, despite the Arsenal links. Perhaps understandably, his agent is staying tight-lipped as a result. There is also a lot of optimism that Partey will renew his contract with Atletic according to reports from Di Marzio staff.

Partey has made the move to cover costs at Alcobebdas Sport so that the club do not have to take state money they way Tottenham tried to in the UK.
