Cedric Soares picked up a knee ligament injury towards the end of January, with Southampton ruling him out for ‘around three weeks’.

Given Southampton made that announcement on January 23rd, it’s possible Cedric could return in time for Arsenal’s next match on February 16th. The vague wording of ‘around’ three weeks means we can’t say that for certain though.

The good news is that the right-back returned to light training with Arsenal on Friday. The Gunners kicked off their Dubai training camp, and Cedric was present with the rest of the squad. He’s still training separately at the moment though.

The Arsenal club Twitter account posted a video of the player riding an exercise bike:

With any luck, Cedric’s return to light training means he’s on track and won’t face a long period on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old joined Arsenal on deadline day, on an initial loan deal. He’s out of contract in the summer though, and Arsenal reportedly have an option to make his transfer permanent then.
