Poor Bristol City. They were very close to landing Nketiah on loan during the summer window before a last-minute change of heart saw him heading to the Leeds United bench.

Despite scoring whenever he was given a chance, he still couldn’t seal a starting spot and so, despite Leeds wanting to keep him, he was recalled with the idea being he’d go back on loan somewhere else.

Just a few days ago, however, David Ornstein reported that Arsenal were delaying any move so Arteta could get a better look at him.

Then, it looked like he was definitely off to Bristol City with the Arsenal website even seeming to confirm it, albeit briefly before changing it again.

Now, the Daily Mail and numerous other otlets claim he will remain at Arsenal after doing enough to impress Arteta since his return from Leeds where he scored five goals (with one assist) in just 663 minutes.

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa were also in for him but it was Bristol City who kept knocking at his door and it looked, once again, like it was going to be opened for them this week.

Alas, it seems they are destined never to see Eddie Nketiah in a Bristol shirt.

How much of him we see in an Arsenal one over the course of the remainder of the season we will just have to wait and see.
