Arsenal appeared to unintentionally confirm Eddie Nketiah’s loan move to Bristol City on Tuesday, through a website update error.

As we know, Eddie Nketiah will go on loan this week, with Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Aston Villa all in for him. Until Tuesday, however, it was anybody’s guess which of the four he’d end up at.

Then, Arsenal seemed to accidentally confirm the youngster’s destination earlier than planned.

They updated the squad page of the club website to show Nketiah as ‘on loan’ at Bristol City. Even after fixing the mistake, it stayed up on the Arsenal app for a while:

Normally, we wouldn’t read too much into a mistake like this. The fact it was one of the teams the media already linked Nketiah to is suspiciously convenient though. Additionally, this wasn’t just a text error. Somebody had to make that graphic to update the page.

There’s still a small chance Nketiah will go on loan somewhere else. The media team might just know the final shortlist of three or four, and be preparing the graphics for each team just in case.

It seems much more likely they know it’s Bristol City though. Now, we wait for Arsenal’s official announcement.
