Arsenal will have scouts at the Luigi Ferraris stadium on Sunday when Sampdoria play Juventus with the mission of watching midfielder Dennis Praet and defender Joachim Andersen, who is apparently also interesting Tottenham.
This isn’t the first time we’ve read that Arsenal are interested in Dennis Praet, Lucas Torreira’s former teammate.
Links with him started to re-surface seriously at the end of April but he’s been linked with us for at least the last 12 months.
The 25-year-old is apparently available for around €20m, a price that is very much in Arsenal’s wheelhouse and could be the man identified to replace Aaron Ramsey.
The Belgian is under contract until 2021 with Sampdoria.
Joachim Andersen isn’t quite a new name in the Arsenal rumour mill, he was linked with us briefly at the end of 2011, but he is an underused one.
Still only 22, the central defender is reportedly also wanted by Tottenham who seem better placed to pay €40m required to land him unless Arsenal seal Champions League qualification on Wednesday evening.
The Dane moved to Samp from FC Twente two summers ago costing the Italians just £1.26m.
