Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo report that Suarez will stay at the Camp Nou this month. They write that from the outside, it looks like every party involved in the deal had a part to play in it falling through, but from the inside, it’s become a bit of a blame game.

Barcelona blame the deal’s failure on Arsenal’s Raul Sanllehi, who previously worked for them. Meanwhile, Arsenal claim the La Liga club weren’t acting professionally and were making the deal personal. Suarez fully intended to leave this month, but it seems he’s not going to get his wish.

Just a few days ago, it very much seemed like a deal for the 25-year-old was still on. The reliable David Ornstein of the BBC tweeted that a move was “still possible”. However, he did imply that Arsenal were unlikely to sign both Suarez and Christopher Nkunku of PSG.

Perhaps, with the former deal falling through, The Gunners will focus on getting the latter done. We’ll have to wait and see in the final few days of the window.
