Aaron Ramsey will sign his Juventus contract this week according to reports in Italy as Arsenal look to miss out on getting €10m for him this month.
The midfielder is believed to have passed at least part of his Juve medical that took place at a private clinic in London on Sunday. He will put pen to paper on a five-year deal worth €6.5m a year with an additional €1.5m in bonuses.
According to reports Arsenal had both wanted to sell him for €20m this month and keep him for the rest of the season. As it stands, the latter is what they’re getting and Ramsey’s agent will be delighted as he is set to pocket €9m for getting his client to Italy for free.
Makes all his messing around with Ramsey’s Arsenal offer seem a bit more clear now, eh?
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Gianluca Nani, former West Ham and Reading sporting director, said of Arsenal’s, €20m demands when asked if they were too much, “Well, if we see the request and evaluate what is missing at the end of the contract is an exaggeration. But Arsenal prefers to have the player for the next six months because he is fighting for the Champions League. I understand Arsenal [asking for €20m].”
Juventus are currently in Saudi Arabia where they will play AC Milan in the Suppercoppa final on Wednesday evening. Ramsey’s deal is expected to be formalised when they return.
