Gareth Bale is encouraging Aaron Ramsey to join him at Real Madrid, according to a report in Italy, despite strong links between the midfielder and other top European clubs.
Italian outlet Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) claim Bale has ‘urged’ Ramsey to join him in Spain. However, they add that there are plenty of other suitors, with Inter Milan, Juventus and PSG all interested. Plus, AC Milan are joining the chase after Ivan Gazidis’ arrival.
According to the report, Ramsey wants a net incoming of €8m-a-year and his agents want a substantial commission as well.
From January, Ramsey is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with whichever foreign club he wants, as his Arsenal deal expires in the summer, which is probably why teams from abroad are taking centre stage in the saga right now. If he remains at the club past the conclusion of the winter window, no doubt Premier League links will emerge.
Ciro Venerato of Rai Sports claimed this week that Ramsey’s transfer to Juventus is already ‘done’. According to Venerato, Ramsey will sign a four-year deal with his new club, until 2023, with an option for one further year.
However, it’s worth keeping in mind that we’ve already heard plenty of bold claims about Ramsey’s future. On Thursday, L’Equipe in France claimed that PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique has been in ‘regular contact’ with Ramsey’s agent and Arsenal over a January transfer, offering him an 18-month deal.
The generally-reliable Di Marzio also reported on PSG’s interest in Ramsey last week, though they added in their article that the player himself wasn’t too keen on moving to Paris. They feel Juventus are therefore the 28-year-old’s most likely destination. We’ll see.
